14. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers and sisters. The one who does not love remains in death.
15. Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer—and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
16. We have come to know love by this—Yeshua laid down His life for us, and we also ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
17. But if someone has material possessions and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?
18. Children, let us not love with word or talk, but in deed and truth!
19. By this we shall know that we are of the truth, and set our heart at rest before Him
20. whenever our heart condemns us. For God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
21. Loved ones, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God;
22. and whatever we ask, we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do what is pleasing in His sight.
23. Now this is His commandment—that we should believe in the name of His Son, Yeshua the Messiah, and love one another, just as He commanded us.
24. The one who keeps His commandments abides in God, and God in him. We know that He abides in us by this—by the Spirit He has given us.
