King James 2000

Jeremiah 17:1-8 King James 2000 (KJ2000)

1. The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is engraved upon the tablet of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;

2. While their children remember their altars and their idols poles by the green trees upon the high hills.

3. O my mountain in the field, I will give your wealth and all your treasures as plunder, and your high places for sin, throughout all your borders.

4. And you, even yourself, shall let go of your heritage that I gave you; and I will cause you to serve your enemies in the land which you know not: for you have kindled a fire in my anger, which shall burn forever.

5. Thus says the LORD;

6. For he shall be like the shrub in the desert, and shall not see when good comes; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land which is not inhabited.

7. Blessed is the man that trusts in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

8. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreads out its roots by the river, and shall not fear when the heat comes, but its leaf shall be green; and shall not be anxious in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
